Opened in 2000, the CHS community continues to foster a collaborative work environment for students, parents, faculty members, and administrators. Students must enroll and successfully complete 40 credits of course work per year to graduate. Every course is offered at the honors level. Students apply as eighth graders and are accepted based on multiple criteria, including middle school grades and performance on district developed assessments.ĬHS provides a college preparatory honors program with a communications focus that serves the community by providing exemplary learning experiences in areas such as Digital Video, Journalism and Publishing, Commercial Art, Computer Programming and TV/Radio Broadcasting. As a highly competitive specialized school, CHS selects 80 students through a competitive application process from applicants enrolled in public and private schools across Monmouth County. MCVSD administers Communications High School (CHS), one of five career academies in Monmouth County. The Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD) prepares students for higher education and the evolving workplace. Monmouth County students acquire knowledge, skills and professional ethics while utilizing the latest technology related to their communication field. Communications High School, a personalized academy with a career focus, provides a rigorous theme-based curriculum in conjunction with community, industry and higher education partnerships.
